Rescue Me
Episode 5: Orphans
Mini-Review
By: Carlos Uribe
Rescue
Me is about firefighters in New York City. It aired from 2004 until
2011 on FX.
Spoilers
Ahoy!
This
episode had Chief Reilly beat his suspension by leaning on his gay
son. It's apparent that the relationship between the two is very
strained due to the son's sexuality. Franco became a single father
when Nez drops dead at the beginning of the episode. He gives up his
daughter for adoption but it's suggested at the end of the episode
that he's going to raise her. Tommy spends the episode having some
character development by agreeing to give Colleen some space. He also
beats up Roger, leading to him getting beat up by Roger's friends at
the end of the episode. In his professional life, he has to deal with
the fact that he was speaking to a dead girl and other firemen
knowing this information. This was ultimately a good episode that
continued to deal with the themes of the last episode. If anything,
this felt like a second part to a two-parter.
